I wanted to share this handwritten letter from a student, with permission.
Translation
“Writing this letter makes graduation feel even more real.
Over these two years, there has been so much I wanted to say, but in the end, the most important thing is thank you. Thank you for everything you have done for me, both in my studies and in life. Thank you for supporting and encouraging me when I felt uncertain, confused, and lacking confidence.
Looking back on this journey, one of the happiest things for me was changing my programme and meeting you. To me, you are not only a teacher, but also like a friend who has supported me along the way. I feel very lucky to have met you. I often tell my mum about you, and she knows many of your stories too.
Although I am graduating, I will continue to work hard and become a better person.
I hope everything goes well for you in your work and that you stay happy. Please also take care of your health and do not stay up too late. I will come back to visit you when I have the chance.”
Reading this made me pause. It is something I will carry with me.
