Sixteen issues, one team: designing our staff newsletter

Opening of the Management and Marketing staff newsletter, Volume 2, Issue 1, January 2025 Chinese New Year special, with its animated banner and To Celebrate, To Do, To Know navigation

Between May 2024 and August 2025 I founded, wrote, designed and sent sixteen consecutive monthly issues of the Management and Marketing staff newsletter at the University of Dundee School of Business. The idea was simple: colleagues were publishing, presenting, winning funding and supporting students every month, and a team should be able to see its own achievements in one place.

Every issue followed the same three-part structure, To Celebrate, To Do and To Know, so readers always knew where to look, and every edition credited the colleagues whose work it featured. Each issue opened with an animated banner I designed around a theme for the month, from Chinese New Year and Eid to Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Pride Month and Wimbledon, with matching navigation so the series read as one publication.

Below are the openings of all sixteen issues as they appeared, newest first, banners animated. The full issues celebrate colleagues by name, so they stay within the team; samples are available on request.
