This week left me smiling.
Across three modules I taught this week, the classrooms felt lively and welcoming, thanks to our thoughtful, committed, and genuinely engaged students. They leaned fully into quizzes, discussion, and shared thinking, asking insightful questions, testing ideas openly, and contributing generously to each other’s learning. There was a real sense of community in the room, built through curiosity, respect, and shared effort.
During the International Marketing Strategy lecture, it was a real pleasure to welcome Professor Susan Kinnear for a guest contribution. She spoke about strategy and what makes our marketing education at the University of Dundee distinctive, unpacked the relationship between strategy and tactics, and shared clear ways of thinking about moving from strategic intent to practical decision-making. She also designed and led a fun, interactive activity that the class really enjoyed.
We also welcomed Jessica Smith, who was previously in my class, along with her colleague, to share opportunities linked to Red Bull Basement 2026. It’s always encouraging to see students return to the classroom as contributors, bringing ideas, experience, and external opportunities back into the learning space.
Thank you to our dedicated students and colleagues who made this week such a positive and enjoyable one.
